African Scholars' Fund (TVET College) - Closing 31 October
Students wishing to attend a Public FET college in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and North West Provinces. Applicants should not be older than 25 years of age. A minimum of Grade 10 with Mathematics and Science is required for technical courses.
Access Trust - Closing 30 November
Bursaries are for full-time post-matric courses at Western Cape Public TVET colleges only for: NQF Levels 4 – 5, N4-N6 business and N1-N6 engineering; engineering practicals if the applicant has a technical matric or has completed at least N2 in engineering.
Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme (DoE) - Department of Basic Education (DBE) for reapplications only - Closing 15 November
The Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme is a multi-year programme that promotes teaching in public schools. Full-cost bursaries are available to enable eligible students to complete a full teaching qualification in an area of national priority. Recipients of these bursaries will be required to teach at a public school for the same number of years that they receive the bursary. Note: the closing date is for students reapplying for funding only. New applications close in January.
Monash South Africa Bursary – Closing November
Monash South Africa, a campus of Monash University Australia is an institution of higher education situated in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Monash South Africa scholarship process occurs twice a year in November and May. Monash South Africa scholarships are available to South African and International students.
NEET (National Economic Education Trust Fund) - Closing 31 October
For Matric (Grade 11) students, from disadvantaged backgrounds, who have applied to, and received acceptance into a university or university of technology. The NEET focuses on identifying and preparing Grade 12 students to be ready, and to study at tertiary institutions.
PPS Chairman's Fund - Bursary Fund (Post-graduates students only) - Closing 30 November
PPS bursaries are awarded on financial need and academic record to full time university students. To be eligible, the student must be registered at a participating South African University or University of Technology (listed below) registering for a fourth academic year of study or post-graduate degree and must be studying towards a profession, which on qualification, would be eligible for PPS membership.
Commonwealth Scholarships for Master’s and PhD study – (Postgraduate students) – Closing 3 December
Commonwealth Scholarships for Master’s and PhD study in the UK are offered for citizens of developing Commonwealth countries. These scholarships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID). Approximately 300 scholarships are awarded each year.
Swaziland Scholarship Services – Closing 31 December
This scholarship is awarded to Form 5 Swazi students who wish to study in the country, in South Africa or in other recognized Universities. The scholarship covers pre-service training, first degree and diploma courses as well as Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and an Honours Degree in Psychology.
University of Cambridge Scholarship for students from African countries (post-graduate students) - Closing 02 December
New scholarships are now available for students from African countries undertaking either a one-year MPhil in International Relations and Politics, or a three-year PhD in a field related to governance and human rights.
Gates Cambridge Trust - Closing 02 December
Gates Cambridge Scholarships are highly competitive full-cost scholarships. They are awarded to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.
BMW Fastane Bursary
This Program provides bursary opportunities for current university students studying in the field of mechanical engineering.
UK Government Chevening Scholarships for International Students – Closing 15 November
Applicants from all fields of study are invited to apply for the UK government Chevening Scholarships for International Students. Applicants should hold a degree that is equivalent to at least an honours degree in the UK before applying.

SKA Bursary (National Diploma)
The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) will be the world's largest and most sensitive radio telescope, about 50 times more sensitive, and up to 10 000 faster (in terms of its survey speed) than the best radio telescopes of today. The following students are eligible to apply for an SKA SA national diploma bursary: South African citizens and permanent residents Students who wish to study, are studying, towards any one of the following diploma National Diploma in Electronic Engineering National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering National Diploma in Construction Management.
