Sasol Bursary (University of Technology) – Closing 31 March
The Sasol Bursary Scheme offers bursaries to undergraduates currently studying in the following fields: Chemistry (Masters compulsory), Logistics (Hons compulsory), Geology (Hons compulsory), Informatics (Hons compulsory), Electrical, Metallurgy (Hons compulsory), Procurement & Supply, Law (Hons compulsory), Accounting/ BScience CA Stream (CTA, PGDA compulsory) and various Engineering.
SAMRO Music Bursaries – Closing 31 March
Since 1981, SAMRO has offered a number of bursaries for music students. These Bursaries constitute the most substantial awards in music study in South Africa and are open to citizens of all the countries within SAMRO’s territory of operation: South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland.
The following bursaries are on offer:
1. General Music Study: Western Art or Jazz Popular or African Indigenous Music genres (R10 000 each)available to students in their 2ndyears
2. Music Education OR Community Music Study (R10 000 each) available to students majoring in of these specialized courses in their 3rdand 4th years
3. Music Technology (R10 000 each) available to students majoring in music technology in their 3rd and 4th years
4. Performance Study: Western Art or Jazz Popular or African Indigenous Music genres (R10 000 each) available to students majoring inperformance study in their 3rd and 4th years
5. Composition Study (R10 000 each) available to students majoring in music composition in their 3rd, 4th and postgraduate years
6. Indigenous African Music Research (R10 000 each)for post-graduate research students at Honours, Masters or Doctoral levelAll SAMRO Music Bursary Application
Exxaro Mining Bursary – Closing 31 March
Exxaro offers bursaries only to candidates currently in Gr 12 (or to recently matriculated candidates) who will commence with first year studies in the next academic year. Complete an Exxaro bursary application form. Attach your latest final, official school result and a certified copy of your ID. Provide these documents to an Exxaro representative at the Exxaro business unit nearest to you.
Thuthuka Bursary Fund South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) – Closing 30 April 2016
The purpose of the project is to annually place between 250 - 300 fully bursared Black African and Coloured students at selected SAICA-accredited universities in cohorts of 50 per university on special undergraduate BCom Accounting education programmes. The accredited universities that are part of the programme are the University of KwaZulu-Natal, University of Johannesburg, Stellenbosch University, University of Pretoria, University of Cape Town, Free State University and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. Congo Basin Grant Program (CBGP) for selected African Postgraduate Students
Conservation Action Research Network (CARN) invites applications for Congo Basin Grant Program. The Congo Basin Grant Program (CBGP) has been established to provide competitive research grants of up to $5,000 USD for African graduate students and early career professionals working in the areas of biodiversity, conservation and environmental sustainability in the Congo Basin region.
Hugh le May Fellowship for South Africans at Rhodes University, South Africa - Closing 31 July
Rhodes University is offering three and six months residential Fellowship in alternate years to senior scholars. Only qualified applicants should apply i.e. At the conclusion of the Fellowship, the Fellow will be required to present a report on the work undertaken. The Fellow will be required to appropriately acknowledge the Fellowship and Rhodes University in all publications emanating from the period of the Fellowship.
The UNICAF Distance Learning Scholarship for African Students
The UNICAF Scholarship Programme was founded to offer gifted, underprivileged students from Africa the opportunity of furthering their education by studying towards internationally accredited qualifications which are offered fully online or through blended learning. UNICAF is one of the most generous scholarship Programmes available. The programme supports students that are domiciled in Africa and provides opportunities for studies towards various distance learning degree programmes awarded by European, British and American universities.
TDR Postgraduate Scholarship at the University of Zambia
TDR, the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, is a global programme of scientific collaboration that helps facilitate, support and influence efforts to combat diseases of poverty. Applicants require ninimum of bachelor’s degree with a credit or above in a relevant field from any recognized university.
ESMT Africa Scholarship for MBA Students in Germany - Closing 31 May
ESMT European School of Management and Technology was founded by 25 leading global companies and institutions. The international business school offers a full-time MBA, an executive MBA, an executive MBA/MPA, a master’s in management as well as open enrollment and customized executive education programs. SMT offers a number of partial-tuition scholarships for MBA applicants. Every year, there are also a limited number of prestigious full-tuition scholarships available. To apply, candidates need to have a previous degree (at least Bachelor’s equivalent). TOEFL scores (95 minimum) or equivalent proof of English fluency is required and Code is 8707. Scholarship is available for pursuing master degree programme at ESMT. Candidates with permanent residence in any African country. Candidates are expected to prove their strong intention to promote business development and pursue professional options in Africa within a reasonable timeframe after completion of the program.
