South African Breweries (SAB) – Closing 15 August
Bursaries are provided to high academic achievers in various fields of study. Bursary focus areas change from year to year and are impacted by the South African skills market and the SAB business need. Bursaries are currently available in the following areas of study:
Control & Automation
Allan Gray Scholarship – Closing 29 August
Allan Gray Scholarship application is available to current Grade 6 learners wishing to enter high school in 2017. The Foundation uses a trusted model, which allows selection from a diverse pool of applicants. Successful applicants known as Allan Gray Scholars are recommended for placement at one of our partner Placement Schools.
SA Institute of Race Relations (SAIRR) – Closing 31 August
The national bursary programme of the Institute dates back to 1935. Since then our students, among them Mr. Nelson Mandela, who won a bursary worth £120 in the late 1940s, have served the country in almost every field of endeavour. The bursary application process starts online on 1 July 2015 and closes 31 August 2015. Please note that only application forms from the Bursary Department at the South African Institute of Race Relations will be considered.
NEET – 31 August
NEET was established to support the educational progress of high-potential students from disadvantaged backgrounds, with a special focus on maths and science learners. The NEET focuses on identifying and preparing Grade 12 students to be ready and to study at tertiary institutions, and to support students at tertiary level. Student is connected to a donor.
The South African Actuaries Development Programme (SAADP) – 31 August
The programme seeks to actively address the problem of the acute shortage of actuarial skills in the black community in South Africa. We do this by unearthing and harnessing mathematical and analytical skills amongst black students in order to expose and help them to capitalise on career opportunities in the field of Actuarial Science.
Palabora Mining (Graduate Training) – 31 August
Palabora also provides practical graduate training programmes, which provide young professionals with challenging technical and operational work, aimed at equipping them with industry and leadership skills and abilities. Study programmes are also available for students wishing to pursue a career as electrical, mechanical or instrumentation technicians. Grants are generally provided for: Electrical engineering Mechanical engineering Chemical and metallurgical engineering.
KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health Bursary – 31 August
The Provincial Administration of KwaZulu Natal offer bursaries in various medically related fields requiring degree and diploma studies. These fields are advertised on posters in clinics and hospital at various clinics and hospitals around the province and relate to fields of study / scarce skills required by the KZN Department of Health.
Institution of Certificated Mechanical and Electrical Engineers SA Bursaries – 31 August
Bursaries will be restricted to studies in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current) which is required by a student to eventually obtain the Certificate of Competency. The bursary will include studies at Technical College, University of Technology or University. The educational institution must have accreditation from ECSA. Only second year student applications will be considered.
British American Tobacco (BAT) Management Training Programme – 31 August
The Management Trainee programme will offer you the opportunity to develop your business and leadership capabilities within a dynamic, high performance environment.
Construction Education and Training Authority(CETA) – 31 August
Bursaries will be made available to develop identified skills, with special emphasis on scarce and critical skills in the construction related field.
Anglo American – 31 August
Anglo American Corporate Office offer bursary opportunities to top-performing learners with an interest in mining-related disciplines and who are in their 2nd or 3rd year of studying at a South African university. Bursaries are provided to individuals based on merit and top academic achievement.
Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr – 01 September
Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr award a number of bursaries to law students enrolled as a full-time student at a South African university for the LLB degree. Awards are based on academic performance and proven excellence in any other field. The Tim Mills Memorial Bursary for post graduate studies has been established in 2013 in memory of Tim Mills, a former director of Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr.
