Old Mutual Actuarial Bursary – Closing 30 May
If you love numbers and think you have what it takes to be an Actuary then we have an offer for you! Old Mutual offers Actuarial Science bursaries to study at the University of Cape Town or Stellenbosch University. You need Mathematics with a strong A-plus result and A's and B's for the rest of your matric subjects.
Old Mutual Accounting Bursary – Closing 30 May
You need a matric with at least 70% or Level 6 for all subjects including Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and English. You also need to commit to our CA Training Programme after which you will work for Old Mutual for a specified period of time. Please apply timeously for admission to the university.
Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) – Closing 31 May
IDC has a bursary programme that assists selected learners who are academically talented but lack financial resources to pursue higher education. The programme focuses mainly on law, commerce, science and engineering and covers tuition, accommodation and books.
Mintek Bursary (Undergraduate) - Closing 30 June 2015
Mintek has a strong interest in students who intend to pursue / are currently pursuing undergraduate degrees, honors degrees or B.Tech diplomas in the following fields: Chemistry (Analytical or Geochemistry), Chemical Engineering (Minerals Processing option), Electrical Engineering (Process Control Systems or Electronics), Geology (majoring in Mineralogy, Petrology, Applied Geology or Economic Geology), Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Physical Metallurgy / Materials Science, Physics.
Eskom Bursary – Closing 31 July
Eskom will be awarding bursaries to South African learners intending to study in the fields of Engineering, Accounting, Commerce, Communications and Human Resources and who qualify for selection. Candidates with NSC, Mathematics and Physical Sciences 5, English 4 for university or Mathematics and Physical Sciences 4 for universities of technology or Grade 10 with Mathematics and Science for FET.
SKA Doctoral and Masters Bursary Programme - Closing 30 July
The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) will be the world's largest and most sensitive radio telescope. South African citizens, and permanent residents of South Africa and citizens of Southern Africa who wish to complete a relevant PhD or MSc / MEng degree at a South African university, or a relevant PhD or MSc / MEng degree at a university in an SKA SA partner country.

Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) is offering fellowships for women scientists from Sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDC). The fellowships are awarded to pursue postgraduate studies leading to a doctorate degree in all branches of the natural sciences at a centre of excellence (renowned research institutions/universities) in the South (developing countries) outside applicant’s home country.
