The South African Avocado Growers’ Association (SAAGA) makes bursaries available to ensure that appropriately trained graduates of colour enter the South African avocado industry to enable continued growth of the sector.

Individuals from historically disadvantaged groups for studies to towards a BSc (Agric) or equivalent degrees majoring in Horticultural Science or Agricultural Economics / Agribusiness.

Value
The value of the bursary award will be dependent on each individual case and will be reviewed annually.
Duration
1 year to be reviewed annually
Service Contract
Students awarded a bursary by SAAGA will be required to work for the SA Subtropical Growers’ Association (Subtrop) for a period of one year for each year that the bursary is awarded, provided that a position is available.
