Since 1981, SAMRO has offered a number of bursaries for music students. These Bursaries constitute the most substantial awards in music study in South Africa and are open to citizens of all the countries within SAMRO’s territory of operation: South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland.

Who Can Apply

Students who are studying Music as a major subject in any general branch of serious or jazz / popular. Students must be registered at a Public South African university in their 2nd, 3rd or 4th year, or honours, masters or declared degrees, who are citizens of South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho or Swaziland (unfortunately only public Universities).
