Description
The SAAWG administers a number of partial bursaries and Fellowship awards for South African female student who as completed an undergraduate degree and want to do postgraduate studies. The awards include the following: Bertha Stoneman Award: For a female undertaking postgraduate studies / research in botany, natural sciences or related studies (including environmental studies). Annual Value: R2 000.00.
Isie Smuts Award: For a female undertaking postgraduate studies / research in any field (option for renewal). Annual Value: R1 300.00.
Mary Agard Pocock Award: For a female undertaking postgraduate studies / research in botany, natural sciences or related studies (including environmental studies). Annual Value: R1 300.00.
SAAWG International Fellowship Award: For a foreign female who is enrolled with a South African University for at least one year of postgraduate research. Value: R1300. Note: Awarded biennially.
Hansi Pollak Fellowship: For a female undertaking postgraduate research directed towards bettering social conditions in South Africa. The recipient is required to spend at least two years in the RSA after completing the degree, implementing the results of the research.
Value: R3 000.00 per year for two years.
