Despite many years of government and TVET College attempts to increase the number of TVET college applications the number of pupils applying for TVET colleges as their first choice of institution remains low. The total number of applications received by NSFAS for the 2020 academic year was 543 268[1]. Only 16.5% of applications were to TVET Colleges.
